No Mac, No Cheese - Episode 46: Optimal Sharpness

Posted in

Ever wonder why your images aren't quite as sharp as you'd like?

Most lenses perform their best when stopped down 1-2 stops.

f1.8 lens: best at 2.8-4.0
f2.8 lens: best at 4.0-5.6
f5.6 lens: best at 8.0-11.0

You'll increase your depth of field, and improve the overall sharpness of your images!

Enjoy!

Shan

"hey guys shannon here" love that little saying :-) You might want to work on the quality of the light of your videos. Just a friendly tip. Have a flipping fantastic week-end.

Yeah, I need to stop doing them at midnight! LOL

I'll make sure the next ones are lit up better!

Thanks for sharing a great tip. It's so tempting to use that 1.8 ofen.

Hey Shan, It would be great if you could show the example photos in this one like you usually do. I'd like to see the difference.
Thanks for the great tip though - I've been wondering how to make my images sharper.
